GoodMorning and Ziti

Good Morning everyone. My sister told me that it was time for a new post and that must have been about last week sometime.  Of course I was thinking about posting all along but it just never seemed to happen.  Anyway, here I am...

This morning I am stressing like crazy. I have a farewell party to go to at 12:30 and I have been asked to make baked ziti. Now thats not bad in and of it self but I have never ever ever made baked ziti, nor do I remember liking it that much.  So I have the task of making something for the first time and something that I dont really like.  In my opinion you could make lasagna. But thats just me.  I called my mother frantic about the ins and outs of ziti.  Who knew something so simple could stress me out this bad.  I've gone over it one million times in my head and still Im stuck.  I think Im nervous because I usually dont cook for other people outside of family and close friends.  Im cooking for people at my job.  This could go one of two ways and trust me I dont want it to go the wrong way.  I'll never hear the end of it.  Anyway I think that its time for me to face my baking fears and get a move on them noodles.   LOL.

PS...

What will i wear???

Music-Makeup-Hair (July Favs)

I decided that you need an update on all things MIMI...lol.  Pretty much things and people that I am feeling at the moment.  Maybe I'll make a video to support this post.  We'll see but for now lets get right into it.

Music:  (I'd like to think that when it comes to music I am pretty much all over the place.  I will listen to anything that sounds good to my ears, not Hot 97's.  That means that I can listen to anything from Tokio Hotel to Rascal Flatts and back again to the Temptations and around the way to LL Cool J.  Got it? Hope so... So anything that I post as far as my musical interests are MY own opinions and what I honestly listen to. )  Getting started.  For about 3 weeks now I have really been on this cat named Miguel (Miguel Jontel).  I'm not just talking about his single "All I Want Is You" although that song is hott too.  He can SANG and he's sooo easy on the eyes.  If my mind serves me right, he is 24 yrs old.  I'll let you check him out and tell me what you think...

Makeup: As someone who LOVES makeup, I wouldn't dare bore you with all of the products I am currently using.  I will however wreck my brain to only share ONE product with you that I think is worth the bang.  So here it is....Dior Addict Lip Glow...
This lip balm is awesome.  I would recommend that everyone go out and buy this.  Especially for those of us who are on the go and don't have the time to argue with ourselves over what color lip we would like to wear out the house...foundation, concealer, powder, Dior Lip Glow, and OUT!!! That's my everyday get out the house routine and it doesn't even look as simple as it is.  This lip balm is worth the $30 (give or take a couple bucks).  It has SPF 10 in it so its perfect for protecting your puckers from the sun.  Dior Addict Lip Glow responds to the color chemistry of your lips to create a shade that is uniquely yours. Smooth it on to moisturize, add sun protection, and enhance your natural lip color.

Hair: For those who have no idea, I am a natural chick.  I love it and I refuse to ever be overcome by the creamy crack.  I'd rather get a quick weave and go back to my beautiful curls in 2 weeks. LoL.  I have been trying different products on my hair since about November of 2009 which is about when I got my BC (big chop)...uhhh was that clear enough for you? Big Chop = woman who has become pissed off by all the split ends and over processing of her chemically damaged hair goes to salon or stands in mirror with scissors and CHOPS her hair off...Ok, maybe I'm being too dramatic.  Its really just when we take off all the relaxed hair and are left with natural, usually very short, hair.  So anyways, I have been on a product journey since the end of last year and I have had some fails and some very good outcomes with certain products, but I have to choose one... Miss Jessie's Quick Curls... this has to be the only product that I can honestly say, if used right, will not leave my little curly fro frizzy for days and will help to define my curls.  I would recommend this for my natural sistas who would like to keep the curls and delete the frizz and keep your hair soft not crunchy.  It also has a great smell, someone is always commenting on the smell when they get a whiff of my hair.

So that's it...if you want to hear good music check out Miguel.  If you want moisturized lips with your very own tint, try Dior Lip Glow.  Lastly, if you want defined curls without all the frizz and crisp crunchy stuff, Miss Jessie's Quick Curls is for you.

Love yall!!! ~MiMi~

Viva La Natural

I've been natural since about November of 2009 and I absolutely love it.  Only recently have I begun to feel the effects of going natural and the way people feel about it. We are shown today, in all sorts of media that beautiful is long straight or wavy hair.

Since my hair has grown out, I have been able to try new things with it and although its fun, I am currently feeling like I cant get around the whole "black panther" look.  I feel like a 70s bad child with perfectly a perfect fro all the time.  My new style is a "puffy tail" which still reminds me of the picks with the fist on the end...soooo yea. Im battling myself right about now.

I guess I need to work on being more secure in my skin.  I constantly hear people tell me that my hair is "good" so I should probably be thankful and shut up.  But I am still faced with MY hair and own insecurities when I look in the mirror.  Although I wouldnt even dare put creamy crack back in my hair, I find myself missing my pixie cut with the sharp V in the back........

Time to buy a straightening comb....

PS.
Whenever you have a "man" problem, Ms. Lauryn Hill and some heavy prayer will fix anything...LOL

How Much Is That Puppy in the Window?

Today I went down South Jersey just to hang and shop and visit...Ended up falling in love with a puppy.  Now you know how the husband feels about me having a dog.  He is in NO WAY allowing that to happen.  He seems to have a morbid fear of dogs, which i can respect.  However, Im talking about a puppy that is no more than 10 pounds full grown soak and wet.

The lady let me hold the puppy.  He was soooo cute.  He was a mix between a maltese and a yorshire...a morky...lol.  He fit in my hand and i cradled him onto my chest.  He lay there with his paws on my chest as though he was holding on to me and i could feel him lil body shaking and then he calmed down and I knew for sure that I was meant to have him.

After the hubby denied me my new love who i have named in my little heart "Snuggles", i almost bust out into tears on the way to the car.  I had to hold it in at the risk of embarassment and him questioning my tears, although it wouldnt have taken a rocket scientist to realize why i was upset.  So I lay here in my big ol king size bed with my husband watching half ton mom while our son lay in his own bed in his spider man themed room and i wish that i had a small puppy to top this lovely family off.

  Dream on.....

Baby Fever

What a day today was... This morning I woke up and had a brief little talk with hubby.  Lately I have been feeling like I want another baby.  My son will be 4 this year and I miss the baby stages, well sort of.  I cant tell you how many people I know that are pregnant now or that have just had a child.  Maybe thats the reason for my strong feelings.  Im not sure but I have even gone so far as crying over this.  I have prayed about it.  I never had such strong feelings before, its odd.  When I had my son it was a shock so it wasnt like I had the urge and then got pregnant...NO! Anyway, after talking to the hubby he decided that its not really cost effective and I agree with him, but its not helping with the way that i have been feeling.

I had to pick up my nephew today from daycare and being with a 1.5 yr old and a 3.5 yr old really gave me a reality check.  I made some runs to the bank, staples, toys r us, and a friends house and i felt like i ran cross country.  It was more like being tired from having to strap the both of them in and make sure one was sitting in the push cart while also making sure the other wasnt ripping things off the shelf...and then making sure they werent having a screaming match in the car.  Then to fight with them for about an hour about taking a nap that they both needed, but bc they were so wrapped up in each others company it took them forever to finally pass out. UGHHHH!!!

Although i was drop dead tired, drained, and had a horrible headache, after it was all said and done, the feeling came back.  I watched a movie and at the end the couple had a child....i started to cry.  I just cant help it.  I wish that I could but i cant.  I honest to God want to have a baby.  Maybe its because Im so wrapped up in family life right now and that would just make my day, but I really do want a baby.  Someone that I can say is OURS and made from love.  I just miss the feeling and all.  Maybe after taking a few deep breathes and considering the reality of it all I will change my mind...*breathe*

    Nope, its still there.... :-(

A New Day

Today the hubster had off of work and we spent our bi-weekly date at the IMAX theatres seeing Iron Man 2 again. Much better in IMAX. That was fun, we went to mall afterwards and shopped a lil, then ended it with Auntie Anne pretzels (me: plain NO salt him: cinnamon sugar).

This morning while in the process of doing something on the laptop for my mother I got pissed at that piece of crap and decided that I would buy a netbook this evening.  So this evening after picking up my son, we went to Costco where i successfully purchased a NEW laptop instead of a netbookOMG talk about happy!!  I haven been dying for a new one since high school, mind you i graduated in 2005.

So I come to you this evening with my new laptop, saying HELLO OUT THERE!!! And sharing my day as well.  Maybe I will log on later...if not, goodnite!!!

Dragon Days

Today is May 9th, just another Sunday in which i spend my day calculating the week ahead.  However I did manage to go to Ihop today and eat a rather large breakfast.  I had plans of coming home and cleaning the mess that was made somewhere in between my big clean on Thursday and today.  I was all set to do laundry and then come home to a made up bed and a movie night with the fam....how quickly things change.  After that breakfast I came home and had the best nap ever.  Felt like a good nights sleep, you know the one where you don't have to work in the morning and you KNOW you can wake up whenever you want to and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Like that!! Now I am up and sharing my day, weekend with you.

This weekend, like so many people, i shared in the joy of going to see Iron Man 2.  I liked the movie.  My personal opinion is that although good, it wasn't better than the first one.  The first one was just BOMB. Moving on...

Hopefully I can become more consistent with posting on this blog, even posting on my cell phone.  Pictures and video to follow soon enough.  For now, I'm signing out again...going to attempt to clean...

~AND THEN THERE WAS A BLOG~

So this is the beginning. For some time I've been wanting to write a blog.  More like letting out all the crap I think of during the day. And that's a lot of crap. Some of it might be legitimate and the rest is, well....crap.

Anyway I guess this is the part where i introduce myself.  I'll introduce myself as MiMi. Glad to meet you.

I plan on writing about a lot of random stuff basically making this a public diary that isnt too personal.

As much as I'd love to continue on about this blog and the things that it will be featuring I am so tired and I would rather make out with my pillow right now.
